Over 500 years ago, the Durga temple was laid in the distinct of Rampur of Varanasi. Devoted to Hindu deity Durga, the temple consists of a large stone built pool with it. This temple has been flourished with fine stone work, the best example of North Indian architecture. It is believed that erstwhile royal family of Banaras has ruled over it.
The temple consists of a square campus and it made it in square shape. The major edifice of temple is made of a square shaped stage. There are many rooms in the stage which are provided to the temple’s staff for multi-purposes like Yogas. This place is also surrounded with verdant greenery- trees and plants which is simply luring and will allow you to scroll the place by walk.
The temple is comprised with a huge square pool in front of it. One will see four pillars on each corner and stone stairs in all sides of this pond. One can also witness a shadow of stone at one side of the pool. All the stone work designed in this temple is influenced with the square shape. The style of square shaped blocks and ornamental scrawls were designed on its walls and ceilings.
