Sajjangarh is also famed Monsoon Palace that is situated at a peak Bansdara Mountain as high as about 944 m above the sea level. It is an enormous palace that was started in 1883 by Maharana Sajjan Singh. The palace is well-known as a scenic spot with a wonderful view of Aravalli Mountains and Pitchola Lake. Due to its historical importance and marvelous architecture, the Palace is really enchanting that continues as a popular tourist’s destination.
The largest Palace complex in the state of Rajasthan is City Palace which is believed to be built in 16th century. It is an imposing white marble palace reflecting its beauty in the Pichola Lake. The city palace is protested by gigantic fort walls encompassing mammoth pillars, huge domes and arches and terraces.
The palace is a perfect specimen of the talented Mewar style of architecture and evolution of architecture in Mewar. The whole construction was based on European and Chinese architectural methods. This place has gorgeous paintings, tall silver doors, frescos and mirror work, eye-pleasing fountains and many beautiful gardens.
It is believed to be built for Royal family member and various mini palaces. All these palaces have unique architectural and artistic attractions. The palace is open to the visitors on all working days, timings from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
