Udaipur Tour

Udaipur City is one of the captivating cities known as ‘Jewel of Mewar’. It has the administrative head quarters of Udaipur District in the state of Rajasthan, India. The city is placed on the banks of the calm Pichola Lake, established in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh. The Lake city of India, Udaipur is one of the most royal histories backdrops. The city was founded by Maharana Udai Singh who came upon a recluse at the Pichola Lake. The king was blessed asked to build a palace on the very spot, as the place was well protected by the Aravalli Hills. The king did so move his kingdom to Udaipur after the Mughal attack at Chittor.

The city was recognized and named as Udaipur in the year 1557 A.D. After the failure of the Mughal Empire, there were several small clans like the later Maharanas and Sisodias who ruled the city. They grabbed all the parts of the city except the Chittorgarh Fort in the year 1616, returned the Fort to the ruling Rajput kings. It was then it was announced a princely state and held the same title till 1947, when India gained independence.

Udaipur is the most charming and famous city that are found in the state of Rajasthan. Tourists gather in the town in order to catch a glimpse of the famous attractions in Udaipur including the city palace, the vast Udaipur Lake and the Jagdish Temple. There are various modes of transport available including taxis, Tongas, auto rickshaws and city buses.

Auto Rickshaw
In this city, auto rickshaws are very popular because of its great service and inexpensive rates as well. These are fast and easy mode of travel that can be preferred during night time. There are no special night fares.

Taxis are the best option to visit at many destinations in this city. One is availed these from the railway station and the main bus depot at minimum cost.

Tongas or horse carts are also be available at low rates around Rs 5 to 15.
