Vinay Vilas Mahal
Vinay Vilas Mahal, the most worth-seeing Mahal, located just below the fort is a large and impressive one with massive gates. It was planned to made in a glorious blend of Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. it is flourished with wonderful collection of weapons, floral paintings and unique mirror work. The main highlighting part of this Mahal is Durbar Hall which is decorated in gold and velvet throne. It was built by Maharaja Bakhtawar Singh in 1793, later added on by his successors. It has checkered Central Courtyard which is filled with lotus bases and walls lined balconies. While entering into the splendid Durbar Hall, you will be explored its beautifully decorated walls and ceilings with ornate arabesques.
Vinay Vilas Mahal has a Picturesque Garden which was laid by Maharaja Shiv Dan Singh in 1868. The lush cool shades of this garden make it one of the most attractive parts of it. It is believed that it locates very close to the Great Indian Desert. Apart from the picturesque garden, it houses a unique museum which is separated into three sections and each housed in a big hall. This place is a vast area which has stored displays of Alwar's legendary treasures. It also kept one of the greatest collections of Mughal and Rajput painting dating back to the 18th and 19th centuries. beautiful brass and pottery works from Jaipur, Multan (now near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border), Bengal and Ceylon are the best specimens of this museum. Other objects which are made of jade, ivory and silver are also displayed in this museum. Among 0all these things, the musical instruments and a sitar exhibits in this museum along with 11th century sculpture of Lord Vishnu.
