Lumbini Tour

Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site that is situated at the foothills of the Himalayas in modern Nepal. During the Buddha's time, Lumbini was a gorgeous garden which was covered with full of green and shady Sal trees (Shorea). Lumbini is one of four attractions known for pilgrimage destination inspires the life of the Buddha, the others being at Kushinagar, Bodh Gaya, and Sarnath.

It is such a great place where Siddhartha Gautama was by Queen Mayadevi, who in turn, as the Buddha Gautama, gave birth to the Buddhist tradition. The environment of the garden owned by both the ShaAsoka pillarkyas and Kolias clans. The name of the father of Gautama Buddha is King Suddhodana who was belonged to the Kshatriya or the warrior caste.

The beauty of Lumbini represents in Pali and Sanskrit literature. Maya Devi is believed that it was spellbound to view the natural splendor of Lumbini. While she was standing, suddenly she felt strong labor pains was not able to tolerate catching hold of a drooping branch of a Sal tree, the baby, the future Buddha, was born.

Lumbini has numerous beautiful temples including the Mayadevi temple, and some others are going under construction. Also, Tourists can search here the Puskarini or Holy Pond where the Buddha's mother took the ritual dip prior to his birth.
