Jaisalmer has many havelis. Three of them are considered as the main havelis named as Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli and Nathmalji-ki-Haveli.
Patwon-ki-Haveli is built by a wealthy banker and merchant famed as Guman Chand Patwa. Guman’s five sons have completed this haveli after his death. This royal structure is the largest, elegant and most attractive haveli in Jaisalmer.
Salim Singh-ki-Haveli is constructed by the then prime minister Salim Singh in 1815. This fantastic crowned has extra-ordinary carvings of peacocks on the roofs and walls.
Nathmalji-ki-Haveli is the third main haveli in Jaisalmer that is adorned with marvelous images of elephants, soldiers, flowers and birds. It is located in a scenic location.
Tazia Tower is one of the major tourist destinations in Jaisalmer having beautiful five storied structure. The eye catching complex of Badal Palace near Amar Sagar Gate is a marvelous attraction. It is a pretty attraction imposing balconies with distinct design and architectural style. Royal patrons of Badal palace was gifted the Tazia Tower. It is built by Muslim craftsmen and made out of wood and thermocol. Moreover, it is adorned by many colored papers and carvings.
Jaisalmer Fort is one of the golden fortresses that are constructed by the famed Rajput ruler Jaisal in 1156 placed at the majestic Trikuta hills. It is also famed as Sonar Kila. The fort was the most important protective shield for the Rajput Kings from the attacks of foreign assailants.
The beautiful interior of the fort is well designed with ancient and modern structures. For example, Jain temples, a royal palace and an ancient Laxminath temple are enriched with fort interior. Rajmahal is one of the oldest beautiful palaces in Rajasthan imposing seven-storied palace. This palace is highly renowned for the lattice work and has been placed inside the awesome Jaisalmer fort. The palace is perfectly located in the middle of enormous greenish lawns and eye catching gardens.
