Capitol is famed as the most pretty architectural grandeur of the planned city of Chandigarh reflecting in the Capitol Complex in its zenith. It has breathtaking structure of the Capitol complex led by Le Corbusier. It houses the three main organs of administration, namely the Legislative Assembly, the Secretariat, and the High Court. The headquarters of this complex is in both the Punjab and the Haryana governments. This entire structure has a twofold cover, which appears like an overturned umbrella which reveals the structural brilliancy of its designer.
A picturesque destination, Rock Garden lies in Chandigarh with a rare scenario that cannot be compared with anything else. Rock Garden is spread over an expanse of 64 acres displaying numerous sculptures made up of broken ken glass bangles, china ware, discarded fluorescent tubes, clay and coal. It is invented by Nek Chand, a former Road Inspector in Chandigarh. It has fantastic 14 chambers with a waterfall, puddles, statues of animals, birds.
Zakir Rose Garden
Zakir Rose Garden is one of the largest Parks in Asia, started in 1967 spanning across a vast area of 17 acres. It portrays all types of rose plants numbering up to 1,600 plant varieties. In short, it is not only for exposure, it is hub of rare plant species as well. Every year, this Garden presents a Rose festival with cultural festivities and contests. A large amount of people come and participate into it and make a memorable enjoyment.
An embodiment of beauty and culture, Sukhana Lake lies in the base of the Shivalik range. This 3 km long artificial lake is constructed to prevent the overflow of the Sukhna Choe stream. A large number of people gather here in the morning to delight in the pleasant gentle wind and the splendor of nature. This place also serves some challenging activities like yachting, boating, and water skiing that one would not get a better place than this magnificent lake. It is spotted with exotic migrant birds which makes this place a delightful location with melodious music.
