Ajwa is a major tourist attraction in Vadodara District of Gujarat that is found about 10 miles east of the city of Vadodara. It was built was built early 20th century by the then ruler of Vadodara, Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. This Man made lake was built in 1891 and now it is the main source of drinking water to vadodara city. Moreover, this beautiful lake is well-connected with five major lakes within radius of about 30 kms of vadodara. For bulk storage of water, the dam is about 5 km long and can store water to the height of 212 feet above the sea level. The floor of the tank is at around 196 feet which is strongly made of powerful materials.
