Bandhavgarh National Park
Bandhavgarh National Park is the biggest wild life sanctuary in the Indian state Madhya Pradesh. Located at 197 km away north-east of Jabalpur, this wild life park originated its very name from an ancient fort in the area. Bandhawgarh National Park boasts to have the highest density of tiger population in the country. Now, one will find about 46 to 52 tigers here. The lusty forests of Bandhavgarh National Park sit in a bowl surrounded by precipices. It is made of wooded Vindhyan Mountains and its ground have many grass and reed covered wetlands where Kingfishers dive and Egrets sit poised, hunch-backed, in the shallows.
Major Wildlife Attractions - Bandhavgarh
In recent times, it is considered as one of the hunting reserve of the royal family of Rewa. Bandhavgarh was announced a park in 1968 where one can find the famous WHITE TIGERS of Rewa were discovered.
Nilgai, Chausingha, Chital, Chinkara, Wild Boar and sometimes a Fox or Jackal are the other attractions of this park. In the Bandhavgarh National Park the visitors are allowed to enter sit on the elephant back apart from the four wheelers. For protection, there is a guide who tells the instructions to the guests to safe them from any injury. The park is closed from 1st July to 15th October in the monsoon season and the best time to visit there early in the morning or after 4 pm to spot he exotic animals
JEEP AND ELEPHANT SAFARI
There are two options to view this national park either through Jeep Safari or Elephant Safari. Jeep safaris are available during the early morning hours till evening. It takes you inside the park with the proper guidance. On the other hand, Elephant safari trips are arranged for tiger tracking early in the morning for the visitors.
