Neemrana TourNeemrana is a prehistoric town in Alwar district of Rajasthan, India that is situated at 122kms from Delhi on the Delhi-Jaipur highway. It is the oldest heritage site of 14th century ruled by Chauhans once upon a time as well as Kesroli in Alwar. In Kesroli tourists can get a chance to see the oldest remains of Buddhist Vihara at Viratnagar where the Pandavas spent the last year of their exile.History: Neemrana Fort-Palace is among India's oldest heritage resorts in Alwar built in 1464 AD. Today, it became the third capital of the successors of Prithviraj Chauhan III, who was killed by Mohammad Ghori in 1192 AD in strong battle. This quaint spot was chosen by Raja Rajdeo and Neemrana originated its name from a brave local chieftain Nimola Meo, who was defeated by the Chauhans. It is believed that it have been built by the Yaduvanshis, descendants of Lord Krishna, who converted to Islam in the mid-14th century to be called Khanzadas. Neemrana Fort The Neemrana Fort Palace is located on a magnificent plateau considered the oldest fold mountains in the world. It is immense stepped palaces that have been constructed over five centuries, rise to ten levels spanning over 1.2 hectares / 3 acres. It is embedded with forty two well appointed rooms with the mixture of traditional Indian and colonial furniture. |
