Naini Lake is the most attractively beautiful natural freshwater lake, situated amidst Nainital city of Uttarakhand. The Naini Lake is the backbone of Nainital known as the prime attraction among all the other lakes in the dustict of Nainital. Designed in lunar-shaped, a channel at the southeastern end, Naini Lake covers over 3.5 km long where one can sit on the bank and enjoy beautiful views of sun rising till its sets. At the evening, you can also see stunning reflection of sunset on the lake.
The Naini Lake is described as nucleus of the Nainital's wonderful and pleasant beauty. This lake provides lots of opportunity to the tourists in the context of yachting and boating. The northern end of Naini Lake is famous as the Mallital and the southern end is known as the Tallital. It has a statue of Mahatma Gandhi on one side and a post office one the other side of the lake. It is the only post office situated near to the lake.

Naini lake has tallest depth varies from 6 m to approximately 28m. in fact, it is encircled with Seven hills:
Ayarpata, Deopata, Handi Bandi, Alma, Laria Kanta, Sher- Ka- Danda and Cheena. most of the people residing in Nainital consider that the dip in this sacred lake brings good luck to them.
