Arti is one of the sacred ceremonies of Hinduism often executed in temples six or seven times per day. Arti is often called “the ceremony of lights” but usually involves offering more than just a lamp. The whole atmosphere is spectacular when the priests (Pandits) or worshippers offer several auspicious articles by moving them in clockwise circles before the deity placed in the temples of India accompanied by singing known in local term as bhajan or kirtan.
