After a leisurely breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of New Delhi where ornate buildings recall the days when India was the Jewel in the crown of the British empire. Visit the 11th century Qutab Minar , India Gate and the grand government buildings, the President’s House, Mahatama Gandhi Memorial. Also visit Laxmi Narayan temple popularly known as Birla Temple. Day 03 / Delhi- Kathmandu (By flight Indian Airlines Dep 0825 hrs Arr 1010 Hrs)
Early morning transfer to the Airport to connect flight for Kathmandu- the capital town of Nepal, the house of the highest mountains, kathmandu is as much steeped in beauty as in the history of this wonderland. The place has ever since been the center for art, crafts, culture and a rich heritage. Arrive Kathmandu, meet at the airport & drive to Nagarkot & transfer to hotel. See sunset. Day 04/ Nagarkot - Dhulikhel
Morning see sunrise, Later drive to and tour Bhaktapur, then drive to Dhulikhel , see sunset . Night stay in Dhulikhel.
Day 05 / Dhulikhel
Morning see sunrise, Later drive to Kathmandu . Arrive & transfer to hotel. Later sightseeing tour of the KATHMANDU CITY - The Hanumandhoka - Kathmandu's Durbar Square is the historic seat of royalty. The Durbar Square with its old temples and palaces epitomises the religious and cultural life of the people. It is here that kings of Nepal are crowned and their coronations solemnized. Also visit the Taleju Temple built by King Mahendra Malla in 1549 AD, the temple of Kal Bhairav - the God of destruction and the temple of Kumari (Vestal Virgin) or the Living Goddess - represents a very ancient Hindu deity of Nepal locally known as Taleju is Buddhist by birth. The Kumari acknowledges greetings from her balcony window. Once a year during Indra Jatra festival, the King of Nepal seeks the Kumari's blessing. Kasthamandap - Located near the Kumari Temple is said to be built from the wood of a single tree from the city. The city of Kathmandu derives its name from this temple. The Kathmandu Durbar Square was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Day 06 / Kathmandu
After breakfast visit BOUDDHANATH STUPA: The stupa of Bouddhanath lies 8 kms east of Kathmandu. This ancient colossal Stupa is one of the biggest in the world, and is the centre of Tibetan Buddism in Nepal. Listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
PASUPATINATH TEMPLE: This important Hindu temple is the temple of Lord Shiva, The temple with a two tiered golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest shrines for Hindus. Although only Hindus are allowed inside the temple, visitors can witness the activities performed in the temple premises from the eastern bank of the BagmatiRiver. The temple was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979.
Also visit SWAYAMBHUNATH STUPA- the oldest Buddhist shrine. It is said to be 2,000 years old. Painted on the four sides of the spire's base are the all - seeing eyes of Lord Buddha. It is 3 km west of Kathmandu City and is situated on a hillock about 77 m above the level of Kathmandu Valley and commands an excellent view of the Valley. This Stupa is the oldest of its kind in Nepal. It was also listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Monument List in 1979. Night stay in Kathmandu.
Day 07 / Kathmandu - Varanasi (by flight Indian Airlines Dep 1410 Arr 1450 Hrs)
After breakfast transfer to airport to connect flight to Varanasi - said to be the India’s most sacred city situated on the western bank of the holy river Ganga. It is also the oldest living city in the world. As a place for devotion and worship, with hundreds of temples dotting the city , sunrise on the river front as seen from a boat can be a spiritually uplifting sight. It has a fascination uniquely its own, a quality of sublime beauty, a timeless eternal appeal. Varanasi is the city which cannot be described, only experienced. Arrive Varanasi and transfer to hotel. Later half day sightseeing tour of varanasi visiting the temples and in the evening view “Aarti” ceremony on the Ghats. Night stay in Varanasi.
Day 08 / Varanasi
Morning boat cruise at the river Ganges to observe the way of life of pilgrims by the Ghats. Later excursion to Sarnath, 10kms. East of Varanasi, is one of the Buddhism’s major centers of India. After attaining enlightenment, the Buddha came to Sarnath where he gave his first sermon. Visit the deer park and the museum and later back to Varanasi. Night stay in Varanasi.
Day 09 / Varanasi - Khajuraho (By Flight Dep Indian Airlines 1220hrs Arr 1300 hrs)
After breakfast transfer to airport to board the flight for Khajuraho .Arrive Khajuraho & transfer to hotel. The legendary temples of khajuraho are an incomparable experience. Acknowledged as one of the world’s artistic wonders, these templesdedicated to the Hindu pantheon of Gods are covered in carvings that are a paean to life and love. Built within a short span of a hundred years by the Chandela Rajputs, the 10th century temples lay forgotten until they were discovered in the present century. Day 10/ Khajuraho
After breakfast proceed for sightseeing tour of khajuraho- famous for the legendary temples of khajuraho built in the 9th and the 10th century. Acknowledged as one of the world’s artistic wonders. Khajuraho has achieved fame for the sensual appeal of its erotic sculptures. Night stay in Khajuraho.
Day 11 / Khajuraho - Orchha (By road )
After breakfast drive to Orcha, a historical site with magnificient temples and monuments. Some of the palaces were decorated with painted murals which represent the finest flowering of the Bundela school of painting. Night stay in Orchha.
Day 12 / Orcha - Gwalior (By road Approx 3 hrs) Gwalior - Agra (By train 1905 Hrs Arr 2025 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Gwalior, arrive Gwalior & proceed for sightseeing tour of Gwalior known for its spectacular hilltop citadel. Within walls lie Jain statues, Rajput Palaces, Hindu temples and a Victorian school. Evening transfer to railway station to board the train to Agra. Arrive Agra & transfer to the Hotel. Day 13 / Agra
Early morning at sunrise visit the magnificient Taj Mahal - one of the seven wonders of the world surely the most extravagant expression of love ever created. 20,000 men laboured for over 17 years to build this memorial to Shah Jahan's beloved wife . Also visit the Agra Fort - the rusty and majestic red- sandstone fort of Agra stands on the banks of the river Yamuna and the construction was started by Emperor Akbar in 1566. At the Diwan-I-Am (hall of public audience), a colonnaded hall of red-sandstone with a throne alcove of inlaid marble at the back, the Emperor heard public petitions. At the Diwan-I-Khas (hall of private audience) where marble pavilions with floral inlays lend an ethereal ambience, the Emperor sat on his gem-studded peacock Throne and met foreign ambassadors and rulers of friendly kingdoms. Day 14 / Agra – Jaipur
After breakfast drive to Jaipur - en route visit Fatehpur Sikri, a perfectly preserved Mughal city built at the height of the empire's splendor. Arrive Jaipur & transfer to hotel. Night stay in Jaipur.
Day 15 / Jaipur
Morning tour of the impressive Amber Fort, situated on a ridge just outside Jaipur City. At the foot of the hill you will mount your caparisoned Elephant for the climb to the main gate. The Fort, completed in the early 18th century, took over 100 years to build and now, although deserted, offers a fascinating insight into the lifestyle of the Moghul ruling families. Afternoon tour of the Pink City – will include City Palace, still home to the Maharaja although several of the rooms are now open to the public. Many antiques and artefacts belonging to the ruling family are housed here. Also visit the Hawa Mahal "Palace of the Winds", and the open-air Jantar Mantar Observatory to see the vast astronomical instruments. Day 16 / Jaipur - Cochin (By flight Jetlite Dep 0810 Arr 1525 Hrs), Cochin - Alleppey (By surface)
After breakfast transfer to airport to board the flight to Cochin . On arrival at Cochin airport, you will be met by our representative and will transferred to Houseboat (2 hrs from airport). Check in at houseboat. Houseboat cruise is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters Rest of the day at leisure on the House Boat. Sit back and relax while the boat cruises through the narrow serene backwater canals. Lunch, Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks, dinner and enjoy your evening on the sundeck away from polluted cities and maddening crowd. Day 17 / Alleppey - Kumarakom
Enjoy the morning breakfast , continue the cruise to kumarakom , through Vembanady lake, visit pathiramanal (sands of midnight), an enchanting island on the lake, you can sea varieties of migratory birds from different parts of the world. A cruise along the Vembanad Lake is the best way to experience the beauty of backwater, Dinner and overnight in Houseboat .
Day 18/ Kumarakom - Cochin
Morning at leisure on House Boat, experience the pollution free air and after breakfast at 0900 Hrs check out from houseboat and drive to cochin & tranfer to Hotel later visit Duch Palace , Jewish Synagogue, Jews Street, St. Francis church, Chinese fishing net & the indo-Portuguese Museum. Evening witness -Kathakali the famous dance drama of Kerala. Later drive to Hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 19 / Cochin - Delhi ( By flight Jetlite Dep 1400 Arr 1805)
Transfer to airport to board the flight to Delhi to connect the onward flight.
