The weather of Goa is conditioned by its geographical location of coastal areas known as the Konkan surrounded by Western Ghats range of mountains which separate it from the Deccan Plateau, the state of Maharashtra, Karnataka and the Arabian Sea. As Goa is situated on the tropical zone, the weather is hot and humid especially during the month of May. However, Goa experiences the four main seasons of India summer, winter, monsoon and post-monsoon. As the case with other parts of India there is no clear demarcation from one season to another as temperature does not reach to its extreme.
