Working of the Consulate General of India, Vancouver, Indian Embassy in Canada and Canadian Embassy in India is the result of friendly and cordial relations between India and Canada developed by the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru and the two Canadian Prime Ministers Louis St. Laurent and Lester B. Pearson during 1950s to 1960s. Relations between the Embassy of India and Embassy of Canada deepened because of the similarity in fundamental values like secularism, multi-cultural societies, and similar political institutions along with socio-cultural bond. Both the Embassy of India and Embassy of Canada are promoting the culture and tourism industries of their respective countries.
