Indian Embassy in Toronto, Canada and Canadian Embassy in India are working since the Indian independence when Jawaharlal Nehru as the first Prime Minister of India developed personal ties with Canada. Both the Embassy of India and Embassy of Canada are consolidating the fundamental values which India and Canada share with each other. Some of the important values which the Indian Embassy and Canadian Embassy share in common are colonial history, federalism and multiculturalism, a strong commitment to fundamental democratic values and parliamentary institutions. Not only this, Indian Embassy and Canadian Embassy also share the international issues at global level with a commitment to maintain international peace and security. However, many ministerial level meetings have taken place recently which further strengthen the relation between Indian Embassy and Canadian Embassy. Both the Embassy of India and Embassy of Canada are also promoting the culture and tourism industry of their respective countries.

Timings
Applications complete in all respects are accepted at the counter from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except holidays at High Commission of India in Ottawa and from 9.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon at Consulate General of India, Toronto.
In straightforward cases, applications received until 12.30 p.m. at the High Commission of India, Ottawa are processed and Visa delivered by 4.30 p.m. the same day. Applications received until 11.00 a.m. at Consulate General of India, Toronto, are processed and Visa delivered by 4.00 p.m. the same day and the applications received between 11.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon Visa are delivered the next working day between 3.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
This does not apply to non-Canadian passports where the processing time is more.
