Indian Embassy in Rabat, Morocco and Moroccan Embassy in India are the output of diplomatic relations between India and Morocco which were established in 1957 during the Prime Ministership of Jawaharlal Nehru. The relationship between Indian Embassy in Rabat and Embassy of Morocco was enhanced and further consolidated after the visit of His Majesty King Mohamed VI in 2001 and both countries made solemn attempts in the same aspect. The current level of bilateral relations between India and Morocco are excellent and high level exchange of visits have led to close and intense partnership between the two countries. Morocco and India have negotiated the Cultural Exchange Program to implement the bilateral Cultural Agreement and many programs are sponsored by Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) to promote the Indian culture.
