Indian Embassy in Indonesia and Indonesian Embassy in India is the result of long relations between India and Indonesia which went back to ancient times, contributing to the historical and civilizational affinities and continued after the independence of both countries. This relation was strengthened by Sukarno and Jawaharlal Nehru who shared the same values of independence, freedom and non-alignment. During the past sixty years, the bilateral relations between India and Indonesia have not faced any major challenge. However, many bilateral agreements like Trade Agreement in 1978, Agreement on Avoidance of Double Taxation in 1986, Agreement for the Promotion and Protection of Investments came into force in 2004 etc. have taken place between India and Indonesia to facilitate, strengthen and diversify bilateral trade and tourism. Indonesia is the biggest islands country in the world with many kinds of object tourism with beautiful beach, mountain, Temples, Crater etc.

Applications for all passports/consular services (like issue of new/duplicate passports, renewals and miscellaneous services on passports, attestation of documents are accepted between 0900-1200 hrs. on working days. No application is received after 1200 hrs except in the cases of emergencies, such as death or illness in the family. The passports and other documents are delivered between 1500-1630 hrs. on working days.
Applicants are advised to check whether the Embassy is working on a particualr day. An appropriate notice is put up in the Embassy premise about the forthcoming holidays.
