Relations between Embassy of India and Embassy of Croatia have been traditionally friendly ever since the days of recognition of Croatia as an independent sovereign state by India in May 1992 and diplomatic relations were established on 9 July 1992. Bilateral interactions gained momentum following the accreditation of Indian Ambassador in Hungary to Croatia in June 1994. Bilateral relations between Indian Embassy and Croatian Embassy further enhanced when the former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam recalled the historical links between the two countries and Ms. Pave Zupan Rusković, Croatian Minister of Tourism, visited India to make a presentation of Croatia as a tourist destination in the International Tourism and Travel Mart. Croatia is a sailor's paradise, enticing with the stunning natural beauty of more than 100 islands that stretch from Dubrovnik to Split along an Italianate coastline.
