Indian Embassy in Thimphu, Bhutan

The Embassy of India in Thimphu, Bhutan nestling in the heart of the great Himalaya, functions from a sprawling 67-acre complex also called the India House Estate founded by Mrs. Indira Gandhi in May 1968. Bhutan offers a lot of tourist attractions with a landscape of natural beauty, clean and unpolluted air, magnificent mountains, inspiring architecture, meadows and densely forested hills, ravines abounding in exotic flora and fauna, an awesome variety of flowers decorated with waterfalls. The Embassy of India in Bhutan has an historical evolution since Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira made their historic visit to Bhutan in 1958 to extend a hand of friendship to His Majesty late King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Today, India has maintained its relation with Bhutan like a big brother, offering number of scholarships, projects and many other cooperations.
