The Akshardham Temple has been constructed in recent times by the Bochasanvasi Aksharpurushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha on the banks of the River was inaugurated in the year 2005. The temple spans over an area of 100 acres and was completed in two years. It is erected entirely out of sandstone and marble that is located in Gandhinagar in the state of Gujarat. It is the main shrine which is renowned as a house the idol of Lord Swaminarayan and has a prominent on the temple premises.
Akshardham Temple is a wonderful Hindu shrine which is located in the east region of New Delhi. It was inaugurated in November 2005, by the former President of India - APJ Abdul Kalam, the Prime Minister - Manmohan Singh and Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
The temple is about 11 ft tall along with statue of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. The entire building has been constructed from Pink Sandstone and Italian Marble, without any concrete or steel. It is designed in intricate carvings, magnanimous structure and the backdrop to look a masterpiece of art. Apart from the main temple, there are a wide range of buildings in the complex where tourists can enjoy many cultural and spiritual activities.
The Halls, 'Sanskruti Vihar', Hall 3, the Yagnapurush Kund, the Bharat Upavan, the Yogi Hraday Kamal are the other premises in this complex.
