Zakir Rose Garden
Zakir Rose Garden is the most largest as well as fascinating Parks in Asia that is established in 1967. It spreads over across a vast area of 17 acres representing all types of rose plants numbering up to 1,600 plant varieties. It is a spacious garden spanning an area of 27 acres. Dr. Zakir rose garden is created not only for exposure of the gorgeous roses but also trees of medicinal value. Additionally, this garden arrange several rose festivals, contests and fairs every year that displays many plays, games and some concerts. Thousands of tourists visit here to participate into it and enjoy a lot.
India's former President, Zakir Hussain has created this beautiful garden that was set up in 1967. It is announced with the support of Chandigarh's first Chief Commissioner, late Dr M S Randhawa. There are more than 17,000 plants in rose garden that contains 1,600 varieties of roses over there. Moreover, this place contains many medicinal plants such as bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar that can be a treatment of several diseases. It also has a very spacious open area that serves as the venue for hosting the annual festival of gardens, especially based on major cultural event of the city.
