Sri Aurobindo Ashram
Sri Aurobindo Ashram is the main scared temple that is situated at Dandia Bazar in heart of the city of Vadodara. The best part of this place is meditation hall which will let the visitors to refresh or peace your mind by doing yogas and other meditation techniques. Further, a well-maintained library along with study room and sales emporium is situated inside this temple.
As per the history records, Aurobindo Ashram used as the residence of Aurobindo Ghose during his stay in Baroda in between the year of 1894 - 1906 as private secretary to HH Sayajirao Gaekwad III, Maharaja of Baroda.
During this period, Aurobindo Ghose was also the Professor of English that has gained glory as a social and political, a freedom fighter respect. The Niwas is now converted as an ashram boarding a library of Aurobindo literature, a study room and a sales emporium.
After visiting many famous people such as Lokmanya Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Sister Nivedita and Sakharam Ganesh Dueskar, this place becomes more popular in the world. Some other frequent visitors include wife Mrinalini Devi, Sister Sarojini Devi and younger brother Barindar Kumar Ghose made this place more popular amongst devotees.
