About The Tour: 
This is a relaxed afternoon
at a private estate near Amber Fort to get away from the
noise and bustle of city life. You can go on elephant-back
safaris through the nearby countryside and enjoy a well-laid
out buffet lunch at the Camp. If you’re going later
in the day, you can have an excellent high tea. The bar is
open through the day.
The Elephant Safari is conducted in the natural
and serene area surrounding the camp of Dera Amer-after a welcome
drink and feeding the elephants the guests are seated max 2
on each elephant and sent on a picturesque track following
a local tribal guide passing by village hutments, fields, medival
fortress (let up with mashals at night) and monument finally
arriving at the camp situated in the middle of the forest.
Dera Amer situated behind the hills of the famous
Amer Fort is the ideal location for outdoor recreational and
adventure activities in very close proximity to the city of
Jaipur. The Camp is located at the foothills of the Aravali
Range and surrounded by the wilderness of a reserved forest
with no urban civilization in the vicinity, just a few hamlets
housing the local villagers occupied by farming on the their
fields bordering a pretty lake. A local Rajput family who themselves
reside in the area organize elephant, horse and camel safaris
in the jungle using their beautiful home and camp as base as
well as getting the guests to interact with the local farmers
in the village. The camp also provides meals, breakfast, lunch,
dinner or just high tea of excellent quality and variety in
a presonalised environment and is fully equipped to cater to
any number of people efficiently, while the elaborate bar serves
the most exotic cocktails in a rustic yet luxurious atmosphere.
Overview:
This tour is best done as a lunch break after a
visit to Amber Fort. The estate is a 20-minute drive from the
fort. You will be transported from the Fort to the estate and
can freshen up with cold towels. You can relax with a beer,
watch the elephants coming in and enjoy the beauty of your
natural surroundings. The elephant safaris last between 45-60
minutes. A hot lunch/ dinner is laid out, usually with excellent
Indian fare. If you have any special dietary requirements,
please let us know in advance so that we may accommodate it.
We will drop you back at Amber Fort or your hotel at the end
of the visit.
